Cantaritos are not varnished and not cured. To cure them submerge them with water overnight and then dry.
You can also cure them with a piece of garlic and rub the garlic inside and out of the Cantarito so that the oil released by the garlic is consumed by the clay. Then boil the Cantarito with the left over garlic.
